How to lay the foundation for meaningful parent-child bonding

Children who grow up receiving love and affection from their parents are more well-balanced and better able to form healthy relationships with others in the future. As a parent, how you respond to your child shapes your child’s personality, choices, and actions. 


The second in The Parenting Years workshop series, Social & Emotional Development will equip you with practical skills to understand your child's social and emotional development using real-life examples. This workshop will encourage you to move beyond conventional views of child-rearing and appreciate the calue of building a meaningful parent-child relationship.


Online Learning: Self-directed learning

While each child has their own temperament, our role as parents is to learn our child's needs and develop reasonable expectations. By understanding their temperament we can help our child develop social and emotional skills.

Session 1: Social & Emotional Skills

Learn and identify different temperaments in your child and understand how simple actions translates to important social skills. Get tips and techniques to help your child regulate and process their emotions.


Session 2: Help Me Behave Well

Understand the difference between obedience and responsibility. Disciplining your child doesn't always have to be harsh and unpleasant, learn alternative methods to manage your child's behaviour.


Session 3: Help Me Manage My Inappropriate Behaviour

Children feel their emotions intensely and it is important that they are equipped with skills to regulate them. There are many ways that your child can process their emotions, and techniques that you can apply to help them along.
